Now officially launched in Cape Town, the focus has shifted to the new plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variant. It joins the current combustion-powered GT, which continues to sell well due to its competitive pricing and sustained market demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-performance-boost-hybrid-leads-the-charge\"><strong>Performance Boost: Hybrid Leads the Charge<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The H6 GT PHEV is now GWM\u2019s most powerful Haval-badged model available in South Africa. It features a combination of the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, borrowed from the Haval Jolion, two electric motors, and a robust 35.4-kWh battery. This advanced setup produces an impressive total output of 321kW and 762Nm. The vehicle offers a remarkable electric-only range of 180 km. Paired with the petrol engine, the total range extends up to 1,000 km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charging is relatively quick \u2014 a DC charge from 30% to 80% takes just 26 minutes. Producing 155kW and 325Nm, it channels power to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Though it lacks electric assistance, this model promises solid performance for petrol purists. It does not match the blistering acceleration of its hybrid sibling, however.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Design-wise, both versions of the H6 GT retain their sleek coupe-SUV silhouette. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.citizen.co.za\/motoring\/gwm-prices-petrol-and-hybrid-haval-h6-gt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PHEV<\/a> is distinguishable only by the added charging port on the rear right fender. Inside, the cabin design stays largely unchanged from the earlier GT. PHEV-exclusive displays within the 12.3-inch infotainment system and 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster are the exception.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gauteng.net\/whats-on-g\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/gauteng-image-1750755357-1024x731.png\" alt=\"Gauteng News Image\" class=\"wp-image-11187\" style=\"width:574px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Notably, the updated interior layout found in the standard H6 \u2014 including the redesigned steering wheel and gear shifter \u2014 does not appear in either GT model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-tech-amp-safety-across-the-range\"><strong>Tech &amp; Safety Across the Range<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Both models come generously equipped with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>19-inch alloy wheels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wireless phone charging<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dual-zone climate control (with rear vents)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LED headlights and fog lamps<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keyless entry and push-button start<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Panoramic sunroof<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Electric and heated front seats<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Electric tailgate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>360-degree camera system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adaptive Cruise Control<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blind Spot Monitoring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Traffic Jam Assist<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lane Keep Assist and more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The PHEV builds on this with additional features such as launch control, ventilated front seats, sportier rear seating, automatic parking assistance, and a hands-free tailgate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drive modes also vary slightly. The combustion model offers Eco, Normal, Sport, Race, Sand, and Off-Road modes.
