The Cradle Nature Reserve

The Cradle Nature Reserve is a private wildlife destination situated in the heart of the Cradle of Humankind, a World Heritage Site that lies just 30 minutes' drive from both Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Covering over 3 000 hectares, the reserve is home to several species of antelope, giraffe and other mammals, along with 197 bird species. Game drives and game walks for adults and children can be booked in advance.

The contemporary fine dining restaurant The Cradle Restaurant looks out over the rolling hills of the beautiful reserve and on clear days you can see all the way to the Magaliesberg mountains. Gourmet picnic baskets are also available at the restaurant if you would like to enjoy lunch in the countryside.

The Cradle is a particularly popular venue for weddings and other celebrations with a choice of small and large function spaces. The beautiful grounds are a drawcard for bridal couples looking for the perfect backdrop for their wedding photos. The Cradle also caters to conferences and can hosts meetings and conferences for up to 140 delegates.
