The Curated Maker’s Market is a monthly market at Constitution Hill showcasing Joburg’s talented independent artisans, designer-makers and small businesses, usually taking place on the first Friday of every month.
Summer of Love is the theme of the November edition which will take place on Fri, Nov 3 where you can expect to find handmade goods, art, craft, ceramics, jewellery, homeware and textiles from talented Joburg creatives. You can become a maker yourself with a candle-making workshop with Mist Candles who will teach you the technical art of candle crafting and décor, designing your own scents and then taking your craft home to show off your skills. There will also be sip and paint sessions for all ages.
With more than 40 stalls, you’ll be hard-pressed to not find something, or a few things, that catch your eye. If you need to take a break from browsing the stalls, there are several pop-up exhibitions for you to enjoy, and you can see Constitution Hill at night with free tours throughout the evening. For the kids, there’s a designated play area by Play Africa, which will have fun and educational activities to ensure the youngest ones have just as good a time as you do.
