In the mood for schnitzel, eisbein and other traditional German delicacies? Head to the 41st Oktoberfest at the Deutsche Internationale Schule (German international school) Pretoria, Tshwane, from 14 to 16 September 2017.
This popular German festival is the school’s annual fundraiser, with the celebration starting on the Thursday night. The events and activities for Friday and Saturday will include a traditional oompah band, amusement rides, beer garden, lantern sales, games and music. The music line-up includes the Dixie Hillbillies, Conrad Cronje & Band, Georgetown, and Afrikaans singer and songwriter Kurt Darren.
There will be plenty of German food and confectionary to keep you going until late. Don’t forget to try your luck in the raffle, with R120 000 in prizes up for grabs, including two Lufthansa airline tickets.
