Johannesburg International Mozart Festival 2018

Make your way to various venues in Johannesburg and Tshwane for the Johannesburg International Mozart Festival 2018 from 27 January to 4 February. The festival turns 10 this year.

The festival is a celebration of classical music, and 2018's theme will be “Papageno/Papagena”. The programme features a number of attractions, including the Viennese New Year's Concert, the Chamber Music Concert, the Clarinet Recital and the Family Concert. The festival will be held at the following venues:

  • Linder Auditorium at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits University)
  • The Space Frame Theatre at Wits University
  • Northwards House in Parktown
  • Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg
  • St Francis of Assisi Anglican Church in Parkview
  • The Bioscope in Maboneng
  • The Goethe-Institut in Parkwood
  • The Scott Gym at Wits University
  • The Brooklyn Theatre in Pretoria

Some shows are free but others require tickets, which can be purchased from Computicket. Prices range from R70 to R310, with some discounts for students, children, pensioners and families. Tickets for the gala opening dinner cost R350.
