Bassline Fest – Celebrating Africa Day

The Bassline Fest – Celebrating Africa Day is changing venues this year. Traditionally held at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, it moved to the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec in 2017, and this year will be hosted at Constitution Hill in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. Don’t miss the festivities on 26 and 27 May 2018.

The festival will celebrate the continent the way we know best, with music and great food, over two days. This year marks 14 years since its inception and sees the event teaming up with the Nelson Mandela Foundation to promote the #BeTheLegacy hashtag and theme.

The line-up will include South African artists such as Nakhane Touré and Azah, and international acts such as Mozambican marrabenta band Ghorwane, Guinea’s Sekou Kouyate and Brazilian singer Flavia Coelho.

The festival starts at 3pm and ends at 11pm on Saturday 26 March. On Sunday 27 March, the fun starts at midday, until 7pm.

Tickets are R400 per day (R300 for early birds) and R600 for the weekend.
