100 Years of Rock Art Research in Mozambique

Curious about the cradle of art and symbolism? Well, here's your chance to learn more about rock art, at the 100 Years of Rock Art Research in Mozambique lecture. This lesson in history will take place at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in Johannesburg on 14 June 2018.

Part of the Speak2AScientist series, this public lecture will be presented by Décio José Dias Muianga, a lecturer and researcher at Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo, Mozambique. He will be discussing a century of rock art research in Mozambique, looking at challenges for the interpretation of Southern African prehistory.

The lecture dovetails with the Wonders of Rock Art: Lascaux Cave and Africa exhibition taking place at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre, which explores the history of rock art in Europe and Africa. The exhibition is open until 1 October 2018.

The lecture starts at 6pm.
