Situated in the rolling foothills of the Magaliesberg mountains, GoVertical Adventures is the perfect place for adventure seekers to get their adrenalin fix while in Gauteng. Whether you’re rock climbing or abseiling, river rafting or kloofing, the GoVertical team believes that the thrill of adventure is for everyone, regardless of gender, age and fitness levels.
And don’t sweat it if you have no experience, as training for each activity is provided before you set out. GoVertical owners Mark Willmot and Emile Steinmann have a burning passion for the outdoors, and always ensure that visitors have the best time possible while making safety a number one priority.
After covering a course in basic rope work, knots, equipment, safety and climbing techniques, you’ll take to the crags of Magaliesberg with confidence. The day starts at 9am, and usually ends at about 2pm. A minimum booking of two people is required, unless there is a scheduled adventure to join.
You’ll meet the GoVertical team at 9am in the historical town of Cullinan. Breathe in the fresh air while you listen to a detailed safety and equipment brief, and then gear up for the day’s adventure. The pitch is roughly 50m high, and you’ll be able to abseil the rock face as often as you like to perfect your technique and enjoy the great outdoors.
Drift down the Crocodile River with qualified guides in this ideal half-day adventure for friends and family. It’s also great for a bachelor’s party or team-building outing. The rapids are classed grade 1 and 2, and are easy enough for anyone to navigate. You don’t even need to be a strong swimmer – the life jackets take care of that for you!
Kloofing, also known as canyoneering, is an exhilarating outdoor activity suitable for the fit and adventurous. During the course of the day, you’ll take a sunny hike up the river valley, wade through crystal clear pools and clamber over massive boulders before making your way up the winding watercourse as the cliffs close in around you.
