This four-star self-catering lodge, created and run by Chris and Carlien Pieterse, consists of five separate air-conditioned twin-bedded units, all equipped with the latest mod cons. Three of the units are specially fitted with indoor and outdoor showers.
What makes Chameleon Bush Lodge unique is that two of the units were built in a water tower, while the remainder are free-standing. The five units mark the first phase of this secure, upmarket lodge, which recently opened to the public. It’s the answer to those in search of luxurious, modern accommodation that’s part of its surroundings.
The lodge has electric fencing that is designed to deter the free roaming game from getting too close to the lodge and its guests. Thanks to this fencing, you will be able to relax on your bush-facing patio or enjoy the evening fire at the lapa while watching the antics of resident wildlife.
In addition to a spectacular variety of birds, the property is also home to a colony of springhare, an added attraction, especially when they bound around the property in the early evening. Guests can also go on guided bush walks and game drives with experienced rangers. If you have a high-rise or 4x4 vehicle you can enjoy a self-drive tour of the reserve. You can obtain a self-drive permit at the Tau and Ndlovu gates of the Dinokeng Game Reserve or directly with Chameleon Bush Lodge.
