Preparing For Your Flight
The minimum age limit is 5 years old and passengers are required to declare their weight and any medical conditions that might affect their flight. As a passenger, you are required to be fit enough to stand for the whole duration of the flight.
Flights always take place at sunrise. Although the flight experience is approximately 1 hour, the entire experience is usually 4 hours and includes watching the balloon being inflated over a cup of tea or coffee, whilst passengers take pictures and enjoy the beautiful landscape.
It is essential to wear peel-able layers of clothing as the early mornings can be nippy but the weather warms up as the sun rises, and temperatures in the air are generally warmer than on the ground. Long pants, flat closed shoes and a hat or cap are also essential.
Hot Air Ballooning SA can arrange transport from most places to the launch venues. Launch venues in the Cradle of Humankind are Toadbury Hall, Valverde Country Hotel and Shumba Valley Lodge. The launch venues in Dinokeng includes Mongena Game Lodge.
Corporate Functions and Team Building
Hot Air Ballooning SA are able to customise the ballooning experience to suit corporate requirements and team building, with the capacity of two people for private and exclusive charters, and over 80 people for larger events.
