Take the kids to the South Africa Children's Book Fair 2018. It's on from 7 to 10 June at the Blue Wing Conference and Events Venue at the Ticketpro Dome in North Riding, Johannesburg. The event affords book lovers an escape to a world where they will be entertained by content that celebrates the beauty of a book.
The amazing adventure starts at 9am each day. Ticket prices range between R30 and R50, while children under 12 attend for free but must be accompanied by an adult.
Fire & Feast Meat Festival 2018
8 to 10 June
"Meat" other food lovers at the Fire & Feast Meat Festival 2018, taking place at the Ticketpro Dome in North Riding, Johannesburg, from 8 to 10 June 2018. Some of the best chefs in the country will be there, using a variety of techniques to cook, simmer, sear and braai meat from leading butchers. There will also be live entertainment, bars, a bistro, wine tasting and more.
One-day tickets are R100 per person (children under two enter free). Doors open at 10am (until 6pm on the Friday and Saturday, and until 5pm on the Sunday).
Birchwood Comes Alive Jazz Evening
The Birchwood Comes Alive Jazz Evening is celebrating its 17th anniversary show at the Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, on 8 June. Hear globally renowned master of Southern African jazz Oliver Mtukudzi perform his musical compositions loaded with social commentary. Spencer Myer is bringing his Spencer Myer (USA) – Piano Recital South African Concert Tour 20 to the Brooklyn Theatre in Menlo Park, Pretoria, Tshwane. The date to look forward to is 10 June 2018. This accomplished pianist will be presenting classic compositions by Chopin, Haydn and Debussy, taking the audience on a musical voyage through the classic works of the Romantic era.
