What’s on in Gauteng: 10 to 16 August 2018

Celebrate Women's Month at networking events and skills development sessions held by incredible women. There's also a chance to catch one of the biggest comedy shows in the country, or visit a lekker field market, if you are in Gauteng this week.

11 August

There are fantastic foods to eat and fascinating things to see at the Field Market, hosted at the Field & Study Park, corner 14th Street and Louise Avenue, Parkmore, Sandton, on 11 August 2018.

Entrance is free. Parking costs R10 per car (proceeds will be donated to Friends of the Field & Study for upkeep and improvement of the park). The market is open from 10am until 3pm.

Men and Me in the World of Forex Trading

11 August

Women will showcase their business and finance acumen at the Men and Me in the World of Forex Trading event, taking place at CM Trading's offices, 14th floor, Sandton City Office Tower, Sandton, on 11 August 2018.

This is a rare opportunity to get the tips, tricks and techniques needed to become a successful forex trader. The session runs from 10am until 1pm.

Blacks Only: Joke Appropriation Without Compensation

11 August

Laugh out loud at Blacks Only: Joke Appropriation Without Compensation, taking place at the Ticketpro Dome in North Riding, Johannesburg, on 11 August 2018.

The show will also see award-winning comedian David Kau celebrating 20 years in the industry by reflecting on these two decades. You can also look forward to seeing top international comics Dwayne Perkins (US), Ruben Paul (US) and UK-based Malawian Daliso Chaponda take to the stage with their quirky interpretations of current affairs.

Wine, Women & Song Festival

11 and 12 August

The best bottles of wine are waiting for you at the Wine, Women & Song Festival taking place at the Cradle Boutique Hotel on Route T9, Kromdraai Road, Kromdraai, Cradle of Humankind. The dates to save are 11 and 12 August 2018. 

You can look forward to enjoying delicious food, good music and tastings of premium wines produced by Glyn French, Jacqueline Grobler, Catherine Marshall, Holden Manz, Haute Cabrière and many other talented female vintners. Art lovers will also be treated to a contemporary African pop art exhibition by Brenton Maart and Sally Shorkend.

All ticketing proceeds from the wine tasting will be donated to the Cradle Boutique Hotel’s charity. The event starts at 11am.

16 August

Want to have breakfast that is served with a slice of wisdom? Then come join the Women in Business & Government breakfast discussion with Dr Mamphela Ramphele, hosted at Henley Business School South Africa, Kirstenhof Office Park, Witkoppen Road, Paulshof. The date to save is 16 August 2018.
