Reminiscent of an old-style butcher shop with a modern twist, this award winning, upmarket steakhouse is famous for its free-range, grain-fed beef.
Rump, sirloin, fillets, T-bone or ribeye steaks are served in a range of sizes ranging from 200g to the mega 700g portion and come accompanied with a side dish of your choice such as pap, mash, fries, onion rings, seasonal vegetables or salad. There are also a range of sauces to choose from and you can opt to have your steak given a pepper rub before it goes on the grill.
All the beef at the Local Grill is aged for a minimum of 21 days and it is possible to take a tour of the meat locker where you can learn more about the ageing process. The perfect accompaniment to a luscious South African steak is of course a bottle of the finest local wine and the extensive wine list features wines from some of the country’s best estates. At the Local Grill they really know a thing or two about cooking meat and if steak is not your thing then there are other meat cuts to choose from including pork belly with quinces and apples or the finest loin cut lamb cutlets.
