Enjoy live jazz music at The Orbit Jazz Club and Bistro located in the popular nightlife suburb of Braamfontein. The Orbit Jazz Club originated from a jazz social club first founded in the suburb of Troyeville in the early 2000s by Aymeric Péguillan and partners. Originally called Peg’s Cosy Corner, the venue offered an intimate environment where musicians and jazz aficionados would meet to listen to live music and recordings.
In 2012, Péguillan, Dan Sermand and Kevin Naidoo, all avid jazz lovers opened The Orbit Jazz Club and Bistro. The club occupies two floors of a Braamfontein building and is a platform for creative expression for jazz musicians in Johannesburg. With performances on most nights this is a space for live music performances and jazz collaborations.
The Orbit Jazz Club is available for hire. The upstairs floor of the Orbit Jazz Club is available for day meetings, workshops and conferences from 8:00 until 17:30. The upstairs floor is also available for music rehearsals, on a half-day and full-day basis, as well as for auditions and composer meetings.
The venue is also available for product launches, photo or product shoots, and corporate events – for a maximum of 120 participants. Catering is provided on site for all events.
