Living Room

Maboneng’s Living Room is aptly named. A welcoming oasis of greenery set among the concrete and glass structures typical of any modern city, the venue has established itself as a trendy chill-out spot.

Offering an instant escape from urbanism, the vibe is relaxed, music is good on the ear, the deli-style menu offers fresh and tasty fare, and signature cocktails add the final touch. This is the place to flop down on an oversized cushion, or laze in a hammock, drink in hand, and appreciate the City of Gold stretching into the distance.

Worth noting is that the DIY menu offers vegetarian and vegan-friendly snacks, and also caters to those who are gluten- and wheat-intolerant. Think tapas boards, falafel balls, zucchini bites, crisps, basil pesto cream cheese, mini beef and chicken burgers, chicken skewers and lamb riblets.

A delectable trio of desserts will satisfy those with a sweet tooth.

During winter, the Living Room is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and the venue may be hired for private parties on other days, so check the website beforehand. Whether it’s a laid-back celebration, special event or live music Sunday session you’re looking for, Living Room has all that and more.

The Living Room seamlessly blends the natural and the urban.
