The smaller of Gauteng’s two international airports, Lanseria airport is located around 30km north of Johannesburg and has grown immensely in stature since it opened in 1975. Every day dozens of flights leave from here for destinations across southern Africa. Used by budget airlines such as Mango, Kulula and FlyAfrica, the airport is also a base for small charter planes and private jets.
Within the small terminal building passengers can find a Vida e Caffè coffee shop, Big Five Duty Free shop, Kauai, the Wiesenhof Lanseria restaurant and Wings N Things, a shop selling flying accessories aimed at both pilots and passengers. Other services include car hire and executive lounges.
The airport has plenty of parking which can be booked in advance or you can make use of one of the taxis.
