Gauteng Tourism Summit 2011

On 21 and 22 July 2011, Gauteng MEC for Economic Development Qedani Mahlangu and the Gauteng Tourism Authority convened the inaugural Gauteng Tourism Summit at Turbine Hall in Newtown, Johannesburg.

The event provided a platform for all key tourism stakeholders to engage with the tourism strategy on a practical level and talk about real issues facing the industry. The sessions provided an opportunity to explore divergent views, while feedback from the industry has been positive.

In order to continue the threads of dialogue that were initiated at the Summit event, an online forum has been established that enables all stakeholders to explore various conversation themes further. We invite you to share your views and keep talking about pertinent issues facing the tourism industry.
