There's plenty of outdoor action and adventure in Gauteng this week with hiking, cycling, camping and more. The Pixies are also making their first visit to South Africa.
The South African Music Carnival
One of the country’s biggest annual music events is back for the fifth year. Taboo nightclub in Sandton, Johannesburg, will be transformed into a festival venue on 17 March 2017 for the SA Music Carnival.
The event will be hosted by music pioneer Vetkuk vs Mahoota and more than 60 artists will be performing. DJs representing various genres of music will be in action for 40 hours on three separate dance floors, so there's no shortage of dance action in store. Acts to look forward to include Riky Rick, Dr Malinga, Afro Warriors, Nadia Nakai, Black Motion, DJ Tira, Mo Flava and many more.
Midvaal Fun Walk
The fun walk will start at the municipal buildings on Mitchell Street at 8am and end at 10am. Children can also take part, but if they are under the age of 13, they must be accompanied by an adult. There will also be arts and crafts stalls on the day – plus goodie bags for all!
Entrance is free. For more information, call +27 (0)16 360 7627 or +27 (0)16 360 7608.
