Shwele Bawo


Shwele Bawo is a play about a woman who takes the law into her own hands and plans her abusive husband’s murder after she discovers he has been abusing their daughter too. The play looks at old traditions fighting to stay afloat when up against the problems in modern South Africa. Starring award-winning actress Motshabi Tyelele and Mary Makhato.

One Night in Africa

Thandiswa Mazwai is part of the top lineup at the Big Top Arena

Enjoy Afro-fusion music at its best from top South African musicians such as Thandiswa Mazwai, Zakes Bantwini, Theo and Noxolo. Thandiswa Mazwai has been hailed as South Africa’s top female contemporary singer – she performed at the 2010 Fifa World Cup™, and at other major international events. Once a part of the hugely successful trio Mafikizolo, Theo’s solo career has been very successful – his first album won him a SAMA and reached multi-platinum sales. The show will celebrate Afro-fusion music, and the popular house music of Zakes Bantwini.
