Tops Soweto Wine Festival set to delight Gauteng wine lovers

A wine lovers delight
The seventh Tops Soweto Wine Festival will kick off National Tourism Month with a three-day wine and lifestyle event in Soweto aimed at attracting 10 000 visitors and 100 wineries from across South Africa. Last year, the festival sold out on both Friday and Saturday and attracted a massive 7 500 visitors.

More than 100 of South Africa’s favourite wineries, including Bon Courage, Groot Constantia, KWV and Simonsig, will be offering nearly 1 000 wines for tasting. Visitors will also be able to buy wine at discounted prices at the festival wine shop, which will be operated by Norman Goodfellows.

One of the highlights promises to be Nederburg’s free food and wine pairing classes presented by winemaker Tariro Masayiti and the Cape Wine Academy.

But if all you want to do is relax and enjoy some of SA’s top wine and finest cuisine, the Tops Soweto Wine Festival won’t disappoint. The premium wine marquee will host some of South Africa’s finest wine labels, while the Appletizer Restaurant Boma, Roots Restaurant and Gallery, Soweto Hotel, Mobile Sushi, Ribshack Red Shisanyama and the Bean There Coffee Company are set to take care of festival-goers’ gastronomic requirements.
