Spring is Joburg Shopping Festival time

Get out and about and shop up a storm in Joburg this September. The 2011 Joburg Shopping Festival (JSF) is set to take place from 17 to 25 September in Rosebank, the inner city and Woodmead. Both the Joburg Market and the Bryanston Organic and Natural Market are participating.

 

The JSF is designed to promote Joburg’s status as Africa’s premier destination for retail and wholesale shopping. It also aims to showcase the many other festivals, events and entertainment that Johannesburg has to offer during the month of September. The city has world-class retail, trade and hospitality offerings, including more than 80 shopping centres and large wholesale trade outlets; a local, African and international brand presence; and a high concentration of three- to five-star hotel brands and restaurant facilities.

 

Festival partners include SAA, freight service U-BAG, six Johannesburg hotels, as well as Welcome Tourism Services, which have all worked together to create a variety of packages for visitors and shoppers. These special JSF packages can be accessed via the Welcome Tourism Services website and the Johannesburg Tourism Company website.

 

“September is a fabulous month for the JSF, as Joburg bursts into action on so many levels come springtime. Appropriately for Tourism Month, there are Joburg signature and consumer events and festivals galore, along with the usual fabulous array of music, culture, fashion, entertainment, sports and lifestyle events to choose from,” says Lindiwe Kwele, CEO of Johannesburg Tourism Company.
