Sailing in the nude
Looking for a way to spice up your next holiday? Why not take a nude cruise?
The Carnival Freedom sets sail from Florida, United States, in February 2013, and will sail for eight days to Panama. The cruise offers the same amenities as any other Carnival trip, except on this journey all passengers will be naked.
"When we go on holiday we would rather travel with like-minded people, whether nudists or jazz music lovers," says Nancy Tiemann, owner of the nude tourism company Bare Necessities. "It's not just about getting on a cruise ship and taking your clothes off."
Since 1990, Bare Necessities Tour and Travel has produced clothing-free vacations, ranging from charters on cruise ships, both big and small, to special rates for select resorts in the Caribbean. Smaller nude cruises have visited the Greek Islands, Croatia and the Italian and French Rivieras, in addition to more conservative countries such as Egypt.
However, the cruise is not the only nude holiday you can book as many resorts now offer upscale nude holidays.
"The joyous experience of the healthy, human body is what we're all about. And adult entertainment is not nude recreation," says Susan Weaver, president of the American Association for Nude Recreation.
Susan said she would like to see nude golf, while another nudists dream of a nude town, where residents could go to the bank, grocery store or post office – all in the buff!
Will you make your next holiday an “all natural” experience?
