Fans flock to FNB Stadium in Johannesburg for U2’s 360° Tour
Fans flooded into FNB Stadium to see U2's first ever concert in South Africa on Sunday, 13 February, 2011.
Even before the concert started, the atmosphere was electric. Said concert-goer Colin Ford before going into the stadium: "We're still in the car park and it's already humming! Can't wait for the rattle to kick in!"
On social networking site, Twitter, concert-goers tweeted their excitement with the hash tag #U2360.
Said Ford from inside the stadium: "I have never been in the same place as sooooo many happy people all at the same time. I friggin' loooooove being in Joburg right now!! Sorry for you if you're somwhere else.
"The last time I sat in this stadium was for the Netherlands Denmark game. This is way more exciting. And a lot warmer! And tonight there will be no losers (sorry, Denmark)."
As U2 came onto the stage to sing their first song, Beautiful Day, said Ford, "It was like that first goal of the World Cup. The crowd went ape and stayed ape! It's a beautiful day indeed!"
