As part of an innovative collaboration between artists and small-scale businesses in Alexandra, an exhibition, Just do it! Creative strategies of survival, will be opening Saturday 4 February 2012. The exhibition focuses on the challenges facing the township's spaza shops as well as interventions that address issues around informal trading.

The exhibition's programme, initiated by apexart and curated by Katharina Rohde, will run for a month and aims to encourage public participation through a number of workshops and classes.

Just do it! will present artworks by five artists collaborating with the project – Sipho Charles, Gwala Keabetswe, Reatile Mokwena, Claire Rousell and Buhlebezwe Siwani spent time engaging with the community and have created interventions around 13th Avenue, the exhibition's centre in the heart of Alexandra.

For more information regarding Just do it!, visit the exhibition's programme online.

The exhibition is open to the public on 4 February, from 12h00 to 16h00. The exhibition centre is on 13th Avenue, Alexandra.
